Lead Pastor Gathering 2025

This year’s Lead Pastor Gathering was like none before it. For the first time, we took the Gathering on the road. We were at one of our partners, Chase Oaks Church, in Plano, TX. As always, it was an amazing time, but this year, it was also a transformative time for the network. The value of our network is our network, and at this lead pastor gathering our partners made it abundantly clear that they co-own this network together and are ready to do all they can to see this vision (An Irresistible Chruch in Every Community) become a reality.

To learn more of what we are talking about, feel free to watch our final session of the event, led by Justin Elam, Matt Johnson, Duncan Banks, Phil Eubank, and Jeff Jones.

Reflections on Network Ownership

Jeff Jones

Growing up in a non-churched home, I am forever thankful for a youth ministry that was focused on reaching people like me. An invitation from a friend was all it took for me to find Jesus and walk with him all these years. I’ve since devoted my life to building a church that non-churched people can find and follow Jesus, and the Irresistible Church Network has been an indispensable part of that effort. The relationships I have developed in the Lead Pastor Gatherings and our monthly call groups have kept me “in it” and led me to ideas and resources that have propelled us forward. Thousands of people, including my previously non-churched family, have come to know Christ because of a place where they could experience the irresistible love of Jesus.

That’s Jesus’ dream for his church, and yet there are hundreds of communities who don’t have a church like that. The way my son, who lives in one such community, says it is, “Dad, if I invite my non-churched friends to any church in our town, it will take them 5 steps away from God.” How sad is that!

I feel very privileged to not only seek to lead a church that is increasingly different than that but also to make sure that every community has at least one place that embodies the love of God. Through the network, I have met other leaders who have helped us be far more effective. One of those if Chris High, leading a church in New Jersey, who is equally committed to making sure that an irresistible church exists in every community.

 Chris High

When I began planting churches in the New York Metro area twenty-three years ago, our team recognized that one of our greatest challenges was shifting people's fundamental perceptions of church. We couldn’t even engage in discussions about Jesus until we dispelled the misconceptions many held about His body; its purpose, function, and heart.

For a long time, I felt isolated in this struggle. My team felt similarly alone. Although we had established a few connections across the country, we didn’t have a tribe.

That has changed. It hasn’t just changed for our team. It’s changed for churches and leaders worldwide who are striving to create communities that genuinely love and connect with unchurched individuals. Teams like mine and Jeff’s are no longer isolated, and we have the ability and opportunity, like never before, to connect and support churches with this passion globally while collaboratively launching new churches that embody this vision.

At first this was a dream, then for a while it was a possibility, now it’s become a reality. The question is, “What will we do with the opportunity?”

  • I want to take a moment to brag on our network. Churches in our various call groups have stepped up in big ways to donate and send in supplies, lots of calls to encourage us as well. You guys make our network happen, support the churches and we love you all! Just one more reason we are glad we are a partner.

Red Church

Twelve years ago, a group of about 30 people began gathering in a garage in Indaiatuba with a deep desire to experience a new way of being the church, driven by a clear vision: to build a church capable of reaching non-Christians. Under the leadership of Pastor Tiago Mattes, this group founded Red Church in 2013.

In 2015, Pastor Tiago visited North Point Community Church in Atlanta and had his first meeting with Julian Kreveree. At that time, our church had around 250 people. That visit was a turning point: seeing firsthand everything we had always dreamed of—a church designed for those who don’t yet attend.

Inspired by this experience, our journey alongside North Point deepened, and Red Church grew exponentially. Over the past 10 years, we have witnessed God transform not just numbers but lives. He showed us that His plans were far greater than ours. As we grew, our space became too small, and we faced the challenge of accommodating people outside, exposed to rain or sun.

In 2020, we launched a building project for a new space, facing significant financial challenges but also witnessing true miracles. In December 2024, we inaugurated our new building, welcoming over 5,300 people in a single weekend.

The new space, inspired by North Point’s environments, has had a profound impact on our church, our city, and our country. It brought to life the vision of creating irresistible environments, further motivating our members to invite their friends to church. Currently, we receive between 140 and 180 new visitors every Sunday. Our integration process, called “4 Steps,” has been a success, with about 120 people completing the cycle each month.

We are living “immeasurably more” than we could ask or imagine. God has given Red Church a role of influence in Brazil, and pastors from various regions have come to visit and draw inspiration from our vision. We are committed to sharing this vision of an irresistible church in every community across the country. We believe that 2025 will be a year of influencing, inspiring, and serving many churches that desire to reach those outside the church.

None of this would have been possible without the generosity of our members, partners, and investors. Every detail of this building reflects our commitment to leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus. The new building is not just a physical structure; it is a symbol of God’s power and a platform for continuing to fulfill our mission. This inauguration marks a new chapter in our history, showcasing our potential to transform not only Indaiatuba but also to impact Brazil and the world.

We are deeply grateful to NPCC for their influence on our story. They have not only helped us refine and implement our vision but also supported us in creating processes, planning strategies, and aligning every part of our church with our mission. Our relationship with the Irresistible Church Network has made all the difference, and now we want to use our experience to support and inspire other churches.

Thank you, ICN, for being part of this journey and for sharing your vision with us. The story God is writing through Red Church is also your story. Together, we are building a future where more people will come to know Jesus, and more communities will be transformed by irresistible churches.

From the Further Faster Network

Churches in the UK & Ireland are finding the secret ‘Apple’ Sauce.

Eve’s Apple changed the world from the very beginning. Newton’s Apple changed it again in 1687. And Steve Jobs’ Apple changed the operating system of an entire generation in 1976.

So how is it that Apple manages to create raving fans while the church in the UK & Ireland seems to only collect fierce critics?

The Further Faster network has spent the last 5 years helping church leaders become more ‘Apple’.

And its working…

Last year the regional leader of one of the UK’s largest church denominations (Elim pentecostal) asked us to help ten of their churches who have seen little growth, become more outward focused.

So we’ve been teaching them some of our secret ‘apple’ sauce…

      • Apple makes their front door easy to access and the environment so attractive you can’t wait to return (we can do the same)

      • Apple is quick to adapt everything they do to a changing world whilst staying true to their values (We did it in Covid. We can do it again)

      • Apple does presentations that are simply irresistible (and helpful)

      • Apple isn’t boring (and neither should we be)

The Lead Pastor from one of these new Elim churches heard Andy use the phrase, “Come sit with me next Sunday.” So they produced ‘Come Sit With Me’ cards for their congregation to invite friends. And their friends came. And even bought their friends. New people in church. Week in, week out. They are baptizing people again, and their church is growing.

These new Elim churches have realised that it’s madness to carry on doing what they’ve always done and expect a different result. So like Apple, and with help from our network, these 10 churches have started to think different and now they are growing again.

Projects on the Horizon

  • Ministry Gathering

We are continuing in the footsteps of our lead pastor gathering and taking our ministry gathering on the road. This March we will hold our adult ministries gathering at our Partner, Southside Church in Georgia.

  • Core Language

As a network, we are establishing a shared language that unites and strengthens our mission. This year, we are developing consulting, coaching, and on-demand learning opportunities to guide churches in becoming healthy, strategic, and irresistible. This shared language will bring clarity and alignment, helping churches connect deeply and engage meaningfully in purposeful conversations.

  • Church Planting

Several of our partners have been hard at work pioneering a new church planting initiative. The current beta test is going very well, and we are looking forward to growing this initiative in the coming year.
